This design brings together three things that make Ganesh Chaturthi especially magical for children: Ganesha, his little mouse companion, and the colorful festival umbrella.

At Ganesha’s feet is Anindya, his mouse vahana, the humble creature that carries one of the most powerful gods in the Hindu tradition. The pairing is wonderfully symbolic. The tiny mouse represents the restless, wandering mind and the many desires that can occupy it; Ganesha, seated upon it, represents the wisdom and awareness needed to bring that restlessness under control. It is a reminder that even the smallest of beings can have a place in the cosmic order.

And then there is the umbrella: an object that belongs as much to childhood as it does to the festival. During Ganesh Chaturthi, colorful paper umbrellas become part of the visual exuberance surrounding Ganesha celebrations.
