At PUNA, ancient symbols are not reproduced. They are reinterpreted.
Vishnu’s Mark is a contemporary meditation on the presence of Lord Vishnu, expressed through PUNA’s visual language of infinity — a form that appears in our work as a symbol of continuity, balance, and the eternal. What begins as a simple geometric mark gradually reveals layers of meaning drawn from one of India's most enduring spiritual traditions.
The composition is inspired by the Urdhva Pundra, the sacred three-lined tilak associated with Vishnu and the Vaishnava tradition. Traditionally worn on the forehead, the mark is understood as a reminder of devotion, righteousness, and the path toward higher consciousness. Here, it is reimagined as a timeless emblem for the modern home.
Look closer and the form unfolds further. Embedded within the design are subtle references to Vishnu’s four divine attributes:
- Shankha (Conch) — the primordial sound that awakens consciousness.
- Chakra (Disc) — the wheel of cosmic order, time, and truth.
- Gada (Mace) — the strength required to overcome ignorance and inner conflict.
- Padma (Lotus) — purity, wisdom, and spiritual awakening amidst the world.
Together, these symbols speak not only of the celestial realm but of the human condition itself — clarity amidst confusion, strength amidst challenge, and the possibility of transcendence through awareness.
Printed as a museum-quality art piece and framed for display, Vishnu’s Mark brings a quiet sense of meaning to contemporary spaces: a symbol of preservation, harmony, and the infinite threads that connect the inner and outer worlds.
